The whole world knows how much I was craving chocolate when I was pregnant with my gorgeous daughter! So when my eldest son asked me if we could bake some chocolate brownies for us to eat, how could I say no to him?
I have been baking with my son since he was a toddler, he loves cooking and always has done. I love that he shares my passion for food. Now that he is getting older he doesn’t need my help so much, he loves his independence. He literally let me turn on the oven, place the brownies inside of the oven and take them back out when they had finished. Everything else he did all on his own, including reading the recipe which didn’t really surprise me. However, when I took the chocolate brownies out of the oven for him, and we tried them, I was so impressed with the cheeky dessert! This was his first time ever making chocolate brownies, and to do it mostly on his own was simply amazing.
This picture does not do his chocolate brownies justice at all, but it is the only one that I have. Albeit, I just wanted to write a little post and share them with you all. They tasted divine, soft in the middle with a slightly harder top.
Although I am trying to wean myself off of the chocolate since giving birth, I think my son and I, will definitely be getting back in the kitchen and baking some more chocolate brownies this summer. Next time I will take some better pictures and post one of our recipes up, I promise.
Right now though, I am a very proud mummy of my seven-year-old son. If he can cook like this at such a young age, I can only imagine how good his food is going to taste when he is older, and I most definitely look forward to trying it!
